There are various types of equipment in beneficiation plants, and different beneficiation processes and mineral characteristics require equipment with different functions. I will introduce commonly used equipment from the main beneficiation processes such as crushing, grinding, separation, and dehydration
Crushing Equipment
Jaw crusher: It compresses and splits materials through the relative motion of moving and stationary jaws, and has the characteristics of simple structure, reliable operation, and large crushing ratio. It is often used as a coarse crushing equipment in mineral processing plants to process ores of various hardness.
Cone crusher: uses a moving cone to perform eccentric motion within a static cone, squeezing, bending, and breaking of materials. It is suitable for medium and fine crushing operations, especially for crushing ores with high hardness and uniform product particle size.
Counterattack crusher: It uses a high-speed rotating plate hammer to strike the material, causing it to collide with the counterattack plate to achieve crushing. It has the advantages of high crushing ratio, good product particle size, and low energy consumption, and is commonly used to process ores with medium hardness or below.
Grinding equipment
Ball mill: The cylinder is equipped with steel balls, which impact and grind the ore during rotation, and can grind the ore to the appropriate particle size to meet the subsequent selection requirements. It is one of the widely used grinding equipment, and dry or wet grinding methods can be selected according to different needs.
Rod mill: Using steel rods instead of steel balls as the grinding medium, the steel rods are in linear contact with the ore during the grinding process. It has the characteristics of uniform product particle size and less over crushing, and is commonly used in rough grinding operations.
Select equipment
Magnetic separator: Based on the differences in mineral magnetism, magnetic minerals are adsorbed onto cylindrical and other components in a magnetic field to achieve separation from non-magnetic minerals. It is suitable for processing ores containing magnetic minerals, such as iron ore, manganese ore, etc.

Flotation machine: by taking advantage of the difference in physical and chemical properties of mineral surface and adding flotation reagents, the target mineral can be attached to bubbles and floated up to the pulp surface to form a foam layer to scrape out, so as to achieve mineral separation, which is widely used in the separation of non-ferrous metals, ferrous metals and non-metallic minerals.
Re selection equipment: Based on the different mineral densities, using gravity, centrifugal force, and other effects, minerals of different densities can produce different settling velocities or motion trajectories in a medium (such as water) to achieve mineral separation. Common methods include jigs, shakers, spiral chutes, etc.
Dewatering equipment
Concentrator: By gravity, solid particles in the slurry settle, achieving preliminary solid-liquid separation, increasing slurry concentration, and reducing the processing capacity of subsequent dewatering equipment.
Filter machine: Commonly used types include vacuum filter machine, filter press, etc. Vacuum filter machine uses vacuum suction to allow water to pass through the filter cloth, and solid particles remain on the filter cloth to form a filter cake; The filter press squeezes out moisture through mechanical pressure, further reducing the moisture content of the filter cake and obtaining drier concentrate.
Other Auxiliary Equipment
Feeding equipment: such as electromagnetic vibration feeders, disc feeders, etc., used to evenly and quantitatively feed ore into subsequent equipment, ensuring the continuity and stability of the production process.
Conveyor equipment: including belt conveyors, scraper conveyors, etc., responsible for transporting ores, concentrates, tailings, etc. between various equipment.
Classification equipment: such as spiral classifiers, hydrocyclones, etc., can classify the ground slurry according to particle size, so that the unqualified coarse particles are returned to the grinding equipment for further grinding, and the qualified fine particles enter the subsequent sorting operation.
The above are common equipment in mineral processing plants. In actual production, reasonable selection and combination will be made based on factors such as ore properties and mineral processing technology. If you want to know the specific working principle or model of a certain type of device, please let me know.
